MediaMarkt Startup Challenge

Cookie Policy

How MediaMarkt Startup Challenge uses cookies, external media and third-party services under Türkiye’s personal-data framework.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Scope

This policy concerns the MediaMarkt Startup Challenge website at mmstartupchallenge.com and its English and Turkish pages. The program is presented by MediaMarkt Türkiye and Tenity. Questions about this policy may be sent to yilmaz.odaci@tenity.com.

This cookie policy is not an applicant-data disclosure notice. The identity and contact details of the relevant data controller and the information required by Article 10 of Law No. 6698 must be provided in the applicable personal-data notice before personal data is collected.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage, can also remember preferences or recognize a browser. Some technologies are essential to deliver a requested service; others support optional measurement or advertising.

3. Technologies used on this website

The current website application does not configure analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or browser-storage preferences. It does not set an application cookie for accepting this policy. The banner uses a directly delivered video rather than an embedded YouTube player.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, video thumbnails from YouTube’s image service, and images and videos from external content-delivery services. These requests can disclose your IP address and request metadata to the provider even when no cookie is stored. Loading an external resource is not the same as granting consent to optional tracking.

Hosting and third-party service behavior may differ from the website application’s configuration. There is therefore no blanket guarantee that every service contacted by your browser is cookie-free. Any newly introduced optional tracking must be assessed and this notice updated before use.

4. Necessary and optional cookies

Where personal data is processed through strictly necessary technologies, an applicable processing condition under Article 5 of Law No. 6698 must exist. Calling a cookie ‘necessary’ is not, by itself, a legal basis.

Optional technologies that require explicit consent must remain disabled until a specific, informed and freely given affirmative choice is obtained. Continuing to browse, silence, preselected boxes, or acceptance of website terms are not cookie consent. A policy link alone does not authorize tracking.

Because the current application does not configure optional cookie categories, it does not display an ‘accept all’ banner. If optional categories are added, visitors must be able to accept, reject and change or withdraw their choice without preventing access to services that do not require those cookies.

5. External websites and applications

Apply Now opens an Airtable-hosted form on a separate website; video cards open YouTube. Partner, press and social links also take you to external sites. Their providers may use cookies under their own notices and settings. Your activity on those websites is not controlled by a cookie choice on this website.

Before submitting an application, review the application-specific personal-data notice and Airtable’s privacy information. A provider’s policy does not replace the program organizers’ obligations under Law No. 6698.

6. Transfers outside Türkiye

External hosting, fonts, content delivery and application services may involve processing outside Türkiye. Any transfer of personal data by the responsible controller must satisfy Article 9 of Law No. 6698, as amended. Consent to cookies is not automatically consent to international transfers, and the use of a foreign provider does not establish that a lawful transfer mechanism is in place.

7. Browser settings and retention

You can inspect, block or delete cookies and site data using your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking essential technologies may affect a requested service. Deleting a cookie does not necessarily delete personal data already held by a provider.

No application-managed cookie name or retention period is specified here because the current application does not set one. If cookies are introduced, their names, providers, purposes, legal bases and lifetimes must be documented and made available. External providers describe their own retention practices in their policies.

8. Your rights and contact

Where your personal data is processed, Article 11 of Law No. 6698 provides rights including learning whether it is processed, requesting information, learning the purposes and recipients, requesting correction, seeking deletion or destruction where legal conditions are met, objecting to an adverse result arising solely from automated analysis, and seeking compensation for unlawful processing.

Requests must be addressed to the relevant data controller using the channels in its personal-data notice. You may contact yilmaz.odaci@tenity.com to identify the appropriate program contact. This email does not replace a controller’s formally designated request channel. Article 13 provides for responses as soon as possible and within 30 days, subject to its conditions.

9. Updates and legal framework

This policy is informed by Law No. 6698 and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority’s cookie guidance. Material changes to optional processing require a fresh assessment and, where applicable, a new consent choice; posting a revised policy does not itself obtain consent.
